We specialize in locally sourced, live-edge slabs that can be made into all kinds of beautiful decor. We also offer custom milling & planing services, as well as make-to-order furnishings. Essentially, we can do everything from selling you raw wood, to making cuts to a piece of lumber, to designing & completing a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture just for you.

All of our wood comes from right here in ABQ! When our sister company, Baca’s Trees, removes trees from backyards, schools, businesses, or parks around town, we harvest & upcycle the wood.

Upcycling is reusing “waste” material in a way that creates a product of higher quality or value than the original.

The wood species that we commonly have in stock include: Ash, Cottonwood, Cypress, Elm, Honey Locust, Juniper, Maple, Mulberry, Pine, Poplar, Russian Olive & Sycamore.

We do not carry kiln-dried, treated, or structural lumber. We also don’t have fencing material, tongue & groove, or firewood.

We’re located in the North Valley of ABQ. Google us, and then once you arrive at our address, drive all the way to the back of the property and you’ll find us in the back warehouse.

Our wood ranges from $5 - $22 per board foot. Each slab is individually priced depending on the type of wood and whether it’s rough-cut vs. finished.

Raw, or rough-cut wood, refers to wood that has been milled, but not planed, sanded, or otherwise processed. Finished wood is wood that has been milled and surfaced so that it’s smooth and ready to be used in a project.

It depends on the size of the project of course, but generally it takes about 2 weeks to 1 month.

Then comes the fun part: stop by our sawmill to chat with our team about your idea and pick out your wood. We’ll write up a work order for you, walk you through the next steps, and secure your order with a 50% deposit.

If you have a log that you want slabbed, we charge a $90 set up fee + a price per cut based on the size of the log. Give us a call for more information on that. If you want a log cut into dimensional lumber, we charge $120 per labor hour. Lastly, if you have wood that you want cut or planed in our shop and not on the sawmill, we charge $50 for the first 30 minutes of shop time.

Yes, whether you pick out a slab from us that you need cut to size for a particular project, or you bring us a log that you sourced elsewhere, we can mill it to your specifications. We also offer planing & finishing services.

From the time a live tree is removed to when it becomes usable milled lumber, it takes up to 2 years!

Once a log arrives at our yard, we let it dry for about a year before we make any cuts. Then it’s milled into slabs, stacked, strapped & set out to dry for another 6 - 8 months.
